Mike and his wife Dawn have been church planting in Brazil since 1997. Previous to missionary service both Mike and Dawn were active members of First Baptist Church of Lake Orion in Michigan. Both came to saving faith at First Baptist Church and they raised their three girls there.
It was during a message by missionary Dwayne King that Mike felt the call to full time service. He began Bible college training for the ministry in 1984 and graduated from William Tyndale College in 1990 with a degree in pastoral studies.
Mike and Dawn joined Baptist Mid-Mission in 1993 and began deputation for Brazil in 1995. The family left for language training in São Paulo in 1997. Since then they have been part of a team of three other couples and have been privileged to start two churches. Mike and Dawn are currently in their third work which was started in 2007 by Alexandre Ferreira a young man who accepted Christ at their first work Igreja Batista Calvário in Sorocaba.
Mike started writing devotional thoughts as a New Years resolution one year. It has been an exciting and continuing adventure. One day soon he would like to put his Devo’s together in book form. Until then you can enjoy them here or subscribe for your daily dose.
Mike and Dawn’s three girls, two sons-in-law and four grand kids live in the States.
